After 38 years of practicing medicine in central Vermont, Robert W. Murray, MD, known throughout the community as simply “Dr. Bob,” will be retiring from Waterbury Medical Associates as of July 8. There will be a farewell open to the public from 4 to 6 p.m. on July 8 at Waterbury Medical Associates.
“Dr. Murray will be genuinely missed by his patients and colleagues,” said Judy Tarr, Central Vermont Medical Center President and CEO. “Since opening the doors to Waterbury Medical Associates in 1972, Dr. Murray’s compassion and professionalism have made a lasting impact on countless members of our community. We thank him for his dedication and wish him the best in his retirement.”
Jodi Grout, RN, who has worked with Dr. Murray since 1984, stated that “In addition to his compassion for his patients, he is a great diagnostician. He has a wealth of knowledge, listens to his patients and delves into what is going on with his patient to find answers and treat them the best way possible.”
While Dr. Murray is retiring from practicing medicine, friends can always track him down at the Murray Hill Farm he and his wife run in Waterbury. They will also be selling beef at the Waterbury Farmers Market.
The remaining medical staff at Waterbury Medical Associates, Richard Burgoyne MD, William Cove DO, Jennifer Gelbstein MD, Alison Hobart NP and Christine Payne MD, are looking forward to continuing the care of Dr. Murray’s patients. They can be reached at 802-244-7874.
